About Brigden™

Bredero Shaw’s new Brigden™ modular anti-corrosion and flow assurance pipe coating facility can be strategically located near any oil and gas field, pipeline right-of-way, key marine waterway, rail site or trucking route to optimize pipe logistics. The concept is based on the successful mobile concrete coating solution offered globally to all our customers.

Mobilizing Brigden™ at or near the right-of-way will minimize the need of costly coating repairs caused by handling and transportation damage, allowing the pipeline constructor to operate more efficiently.

Being able to mobilize Brigden™ will provide the customer a solution in cases where local content is a critical requirement for project execution.

Execution of your project with Brigden™ could reduce the overall project schedule leading to improved cash flow as the steel pipe can be shipped directly to the project site area for coating. All phases of the Brigden™ coating operation (surface preparation, pre-heat, coating application, final inspection) can be conducted in an enclosed area of 18,000 square feet. A total area of 2.8 acres (1.1 hectares) is needed to set-up Brigden™. This excludes pipe storage requirements.

Product Range and Capabilities

Brigden™ – Plant Capabilities

Brigden™ is capable of applying coating to pipe with an outside diameter ranging from 8-42 inches and a maximum pipe weight of 325 pounds per foot (483 kilogram per meter). The minimum and maximum nominal pipe lengths that can be accommodated are 34 - 80 feet. Brigden™comes fully equipped with integrated facilities for raw materials storage, facility maintenance and quality control and testing. The enhanced portability of Brigden™ versus traditional permanent coating facilities results in:

• logistical advantages, specifically for steel pipe manufactured in pipe mills without coating application capabilities

• the coating yard can be used as coated pipe inventory base

Brigden’s™ modular concept is based on standard designs and proven process technologies which are faster and easier to install and service. These technologies have proven successful in the pipe coating industry, ultimately leading to more consistent performance, reduced maintenance requirements and enhanced plant uptime. Upon arrival of the modular Brigden™ facility at the coating location via ship, truck or rail, the anticipated assembly time to commence coating operations is 6 weeks. This is a significant reduction compared to conventional mobilization durations for permanent coating application facilities. Likewise, demobilization of Brigden™ is expected to be 30 days.

Brigden™ - Game Changing Engineering

Brigden™ is assembled from contents supplied in 50 standard and specially designed shipping containers that are CSC or ISO certified. Brigden™ is equipped with the latest technology, from pipe pre-heat equipment through automated end finish cutback machines.

Depending on geometry of the execution yard or the building in which Brigden™ is utilized, the modular pipe coating facility can be configured in an “s-shape” or a “u-shape”, dependant on what suits the project best. If an existing building is unavailable, a portable structure capable of withstanding wind gusts of 120 miles per hour can be provided to shield the critical process areas from the environment. Modular compressors are part of the integrated systems.

Brigden™ is an “all-inclusive” modular pipe coating facility lead by a dedicated team of coating application experts. This team is trained in continuous improvement techniques supplemented by regional management and operations resources for safe and timely execution of your project. The plant set-up and execution of your project will be based on standard operating procedures that are an integral part of our ShawCor Manufacturing System.

Office facilities and rolling stock needed for pipe handling and raw material processing will be sourced locally.
