Bredero Shaw is committed to
providing a workplace that is safe and healthy for all employees,
visitors and neighbours. Further, protection of the environment
figures prominently in all business decisions. The Company’s
commitment to employee safety is promoted through our Incident
and Injury Free (IIF) philosophy. The Bredero Shaw Health,
Safety and Environment Management System (HESMS) is designed
to provide consistent guidance and instruction to our global
operations. This system meets or exceeds all international
standards and may be considered “best in class”.
The HSEMS is fully integrated within our global operations
and relies on engineering controls, documented minimum standards
and personnel behaviour to achieve an IIF workplace.
Bredero Shaw, and all other divisions of ShawCor Ltd, are
governed by, and adhere to, ShawCor's Corporate HSE Policy.
BREDERO SHAW HSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The Bredero Shaw HSE Management System consists of three
levels of documentation. Level 1 describes what Company leadership
expects in terms of HSE performance. Further, these Level
1 documents describe what management actions are required
to achieve the stated goals. The Level 2 documents contain
minimum health, safety and environmental standards consisting
of technical direction. Each production facility is required
to review the level 2 documents and develop site specific
Level 3 programs which define specific operating requirements
at each location. The following depicts the relationship
between the various levels of the HSEMS:
HSE Management System Architecture
As a result of the Bredero Shaw Incident and Injury Free
philosophy, safety performance has consistently improved
each year. Many plants have achieved an Incident and Injury
Free performance for extended periods of time. As the following
graphs illustrate, Bredero Shaw has consistently improved
our performance.
